Hometown Heroes

Riverhead’s Hometown Heroes banners are clean and ready to be installed along Main Street in time for Memorial Day, thanks to the efforts of the Riverhead NJROTC. The cadets cleaned the 110 banners featuring the names and photos of local residents who served in the U.S. military.

Tweed's Restaurant owner Ed Tuccio told RiverheadLOCAL last week he had a friend take the banners down because they were blocking the view of his restaurant. Someone turned them in to town officials last Wednesday. Police are investigating the incident.
