Riverhead Combined Veterans Committee

“If you love freedom and liberty, thank one of our 21 million American men and women who swore with their lives to protect it. Veterans day is our time to salute them all.”

Riverhead has sacrificed native sons in nearly all of the major armed conflicts fought by the United States since its inception. Today, the townspeople came together to honor their memory and give thanks for their sacrifice.

Riverhead's Memorial Day parade and ceremonies went forward despite the rain this morning, though the parade was small and attendance sparse.
