Anticipating as much as three to five inches of rain in the next 36 hours, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for our area through Tuesday afternoon.
Rain will fall throughout the day today, heavy at times, and will continue tonight and tomorrow. There may be a prolonged period of heavy rain tomorrow, according to the weather service. Rain will taper off Tuesday afternoon and evening.
The weather service advises to be alert for flood warnings as the storm progresses, especially in low-lying and coastal areas normally prone to flooding.
