…Winter weather advisory in effect from midnight tonight to 6 am EST Tuesday…
The National Weather Service in New York has issued a winter weather advisory for freezing rain and snow…which is in effect from midnight tonight to 6 am EST Tuesday.
* Locations…Suffolk County.
* Hazard types…Freezing rain and light snow.
* Accumulations…Snow accumulation of up to 1 inch…along with around a tenth of an inch of ice.
* Temperatures…Around 30.
* Timing…There is a slight chance of some light freezing rain early this morning…maybe mixed with snow. Otherwise there is a chance of rain through the day. This evening there will be a chance of rain…freezing rain…light snow…and maybe some sleet. The precipitation becomes steadier later this evening and overnight and at that time will be predominately freezing rain and snow. The precipitation continues into Monday night.
* Impacts…Hazardous travel due to ice accumulations.
