The East End Drug Task Force arrested two Riverhead today on felony drug charges.

Darius Mims, 24, and Robert Mahoney, 26, of 17 Wilson Avenue, were arrested at their residence by the East End Drug Task Force, assisted by Riverhead Town Police, who executed a search warrant as a result of an investigation into drug sales at the residence.

Police recovered quantities of crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and suboxone, as well as a quantity of cash, according to a press release issued by Riverhead Police.

The arrests were made in cooperation with Riverhead Town Police COPE and K-9 units, Suffolk County Sheriff’s K9 unit and Suffolk County Emergency Services Unit.

Mims and Mahoney were both charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance (intent to sell) in the third degree, a class B felony. Both were also charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia (scales and packaging materials) in the second degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Mahoney was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree.

Mims was arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court and held without bail, police said.
