A Riverhead man is facing felony drug charges after the East End Drug Task Force and Riverhead Town Police executed a search warrant at his Oakland Drive North house today.

William Moore, age 32, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, three counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree and six counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation into drug sales at the residence, police said in a press release this afternoon.

EEDTF members recovered quantities of, heroin, marijuana, scales, packaging materials and cash, police said. Two shotguns were removed from the residence for safekeeping and further investigation, police said.

There were seven children in the residence ranging in age from two to fifteen years of age, according to the report.

EEDTF was assisted by Riverhead Town Police C.O.P.E. and K-9 units and Suffolk County Emergency Services and K-9 Units.

Moore is being held overnight in Riverhead pending an arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court, police said.
