Riverhead NJROTC’s annual inspection was held last Thursday at the high school gymnasium.
Commander Jimmie Miller, the Area Four Manager who conducted the inspection, said Riverhead High School’s unit continues to be “one of the premier units in Area Four.”
The annual review consists of a personal inspection, color guard performance, drill demonstrations, pass-in-review and cadet briefings to the inspecting officer.
Though the final report will not be returned for several weeks, Miller said there were no discrepancies in the unit’s performance, according to Riverhead Naval Science Instructor Peter McCarthy.
“Commander Miller had high praise for the unit and the pass-in-review ceremony,” McCarthy said, “especially the Drill Team performances, which he said were the best he has seen this year.”
