Riverhead’s Applebee’s raised almost $12,000 for the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program during last December’s Breakfast with Santa event.

Applebee’s annual Breakfast with Santa fundraising events were held at locations throughout Long Island and New Jersey last December, with 100 percent of proceeds going toward Toys for Tots.

The events raised more than $231,917 in total for Toys for Tots, a United States Marine Corps program that puts presents under the trees of underprivileged children during the holidays.

The Applebee’s location in Riverhead raised $11,879.

Over the past 17 years, Applebee’s locations in Long Island, New Jersey, Florida and Georgia have raised more than $3.6 million for Toys for Tots.
