Toys for tots

Lupton & Luce, located at 225 Howell Avenue in Riverhead, is an official drop-off location for Toys-for-Tots during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Riverhead’s Applebee’s raised almost $12,000 for the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program during last December’s Breakfast with Santa event.

“Thank you for your service,” one little boy shyly said to the uniformed sergeant. “Some of the kids are more interested in shaking his hand than seeing Santa,” Passantino said. “It’s a great thing to see.”
