Konrad “Skelly” Doroski, a lifelong resident of Aquebogue, died September 23, 2017. He was 87 years old.

He was born January 29, 1930 to Frank and Justyna (Ruskowski) Doroski. He grew up on his family farm in Aquebogue with 10 brothers and sisters.

After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed in Japan for three and a half years having attained the rank of staff sergeant.

After returning home and marrying Gloria “Bunny” Breitenbach, he worked for Rheingold Breweries for 22 years, rising to the rank of district manager after winning many sales awards. After leaving Rheingold, he purchased and ran Skelly’s Farmstand.

In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his garden and dancing — especially ballroom and polka dancing. He attended many polka weekends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, “Bunny,” his sons Kevin (Dawn) of Wayne, Pennsylvania and Dave (Nona) of Wyncote, Pennsylvania, his daughter Shelly (Tom Huysman) of Aquebogue, and his grandchildren Derek (Laura), Danica, Nolan (Trishna), April, Michael and Claire Doroski, Alexis Ybañez (Mike), Justine and Mark Huysman, four great-grandchildren and his siblings Bertha Wilcenski, Irene Zlatniski and Beanie Sujecki.

The family received visitors Friday, Sept. 29 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home. A funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 30 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care unit at Peconic Bay Medical Center.
