East End residents will have an opportunity to air their concerns about health-related issues to the Suffolk County health commissioner this month.
Dr. James Tomarken will host the Suffolk County Department of Health Services semi-annual public health hearing on Monday, Oct. 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Riverhead county center.
Suffolk County law directs the Department of Health Services to hold two public health hearings each year, said department spokesperson Grace Kelly-McGovern. One hearing is held in spring in Hauppauge and one is held every fall in Riverhead, she said.
The Oct. 16 hearing will take place in the Maxine Postal legislative auditorium at the Evans K. Griffing County Center, 300 Center Drive, Riverhead.
Residents who are unable to attend the hearing may submit written testimony to Suffolk County Department of Health Services, Attention: Grace Kelly-McGovern, 3500 Sunrise Highway, Suite 124, P.O. Box 9006, Great River, NY 11739-9006. Written testimony will be accepted until Nov. 6.
