A Riverhead man was arrested on a felony criminal mischief charge after he broke a window of the 7-Eleven store on the Route 58 traffic circle late last night.
Riverhead Town Police said Vincent Braunskill, 45, threw an object at the front window of the 7-Eleven at 1050 Old Country Road, breaking the glass.
Responding patrol units located Braunskill, who matched the description given by a witness, near the scene of the incident, according to a police report. After an investigation by the Riverhead Police detective division, Braunskill was charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, a class D felony, police said. He was processed and held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.
Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
