The ground may be covered in snow and ice, but it’s not too soon to start thinking about the 2018 baseball and softball season.
Riverhead Little League is hosting a softball clinic on four consecutive Saturdays beginning Jan. 27 to provide instruction in the fundamentals of fast-pitch pitching, catching, hitting, fielding and base-running.
The clinics, taught by McGann-Mercy High School varsity coaches and players and Riverhead Little League coaches, will run from 3 to 5 p.m. at the McGann-Mercy High School gym. The cost is $10 per session or $35 for all four.
Players are asked to bring their own softball equipment, including bats, helmets, gloves and, for catchers, catcher’s gear.
