Plans have been filed for a car wash, restaurant and retail space on the southeast corner of Route 58 and Pulaski Street Extension.
A developer has filed a site plan application with the planning board and a special permit application with the town board. The site is located in the Business Center zoning use district, which allows a car wash only by town board special permit.
The applications call for the construction of a 7,110-square-foot commercial building, which would include: a 3,280-square-foot car wash with a 280-square-foot upper office; a 2,550-square-foot 78-seat restaurant (with 66 indoor seats and 12 outdoor seats) and 1,000 square feet of retail space.
The site is a 62,622-square-foot irregular “triangle” currently developed with a single-family house, sheds, and a barn, according to town documents. It was part of a larger parcel on Route 58 that was the subject of an eminent domain action by the town to create Pulaski Street extension.
The town board this month initiated review under the State Environmental Quality Review Act, classifying the proposed action as unlisted and requiring coordinated review under state law.
