Child safety seats greatly reduce the risks of fatal injury in infants and toddlers riding in motor vehicles, according the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The Southampton Town police department’s certified technician will perform child safety seat checks on Saturday, May 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Target parking lot on Route 58 in Riverhead.
It is free and open to the public.
