Blue Waves fans and the Riverhead school community turned out for the Riverhead High School homecoming parade this afternoon — a perfect day for a parade with clear skies and bright sunshine.
The bright and colorful class floats this year featured Pixar films. The freshman Class of 2022 made a “Wall-E” float. Sophomores, the Class of 2021, chose “Inside Out.” The junior Class of 2020 created a “Monsters Inc.” float. Seniors, the Class of 2019, recreated Andy’s room from “Toy Story.”
The results of the float contest, which were announced at the homecoming game, were as follows:

1st place: Juniors, Class of 2020
2nd place: Sophomores, Class of 2021
3rd place: Seniors, Class of 2019
4th place: Freshmen, Class of 2022
The parade stepped off on East Main Street at East Avenue just after 12 noon and made its way to Osborn Avenue, where it turned north and continued to the football field. The Waves host Deer Park today. Check RiverheadLOCAL later for game action photos, highlights and score.
