Suffolk Police have arrested a 17-year-old Riverhead boy in connection with a Nov. 4 shooting in Calverton that injured 23-year-old Mattituck man.
Matthew Pittman was arrested on Thursday and arraigned Friday in Suffolk County District Court on felony robbery and assault charges, Suffolk Police said.
He is facing two counts of first-degree robbery, a class B felony, and one count of assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon, a class D felony, according to online court records.
The court issued a temporary order of protection and ordered Pittman held on $50,000 cash bail.
The Nov. 4 shooting took place in a parking lot at the Calverton Hills condominium complex at about 3:45 p.m., police said the next day. The victim was driven to Peconic Bay Medican Center in a private vehicle, according to police, who said his injuries were not life-threatening.
Security was heightened at Riverhead High School following the incident, though no threats to the school have been reported by school officials.
