A Hampton Bays man was arrested yesterday in connection with the theft of a vehicle reported stolen from a Flanders business and items stolen from additional vehicles in the Flanders area, Southampton Town Police said in a press release last night.
Police received a report of a stolen vehicle from a Flanders business yesterday and items stolen from other vehicles at about 3:25 p.m. yesterday, according to the press release.
During an investigation, Southampton Police detectives located the vehicle on Montauk Highway in Shinnecock Hills at 5:11 p.m., police said. The vehicle was being operated by Walter A. Juarez Nunez, 26, according to the police report. Juarez was also found to be in possession of assorted construction tools that had been reported stolen, police said.
Juarez was arrested on charges of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, (a Class E felony), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fifth Degree, a Class A misdemeanor and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, Class A misdemeanor, police said. He was released for a future court date.
