Riverhead Town Police have identified the woman who died last night in a vehicle fire at 2 Sebastian Drive as Kimberly Pawlowski, 49, a resident at that address.

Police said in a press release this evening the preliminary investigation indicates the incident was noncriminal in nature.

Police and firefighters responding to reports of a vehicle fire at about 10:34 p.m. found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames parked in the driveway at 2 Sebastian Drive, according to a Riverhead Police Department press release issued early this morning. Fire had also involved an exterior wall of the residence and a dumpster located nearby on the property, police said.

The fire was extinguished by Riverhead Fire Department firefighters. After the fire was put out, a body was discovered inside the vehicle, police said this morning. See prior story.
