A 17-year-old resident at Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch in Riverhead has been arrested on a felony assault charge in connection with a stabbing of another resident at of the facility’s residences on July 10, Riverhead Town Police said in a press release this morning.
Police said two males were in a physical altercation at the Timothy Hill Ladybug House on Sound Avenue in Riverhead when one stabbed the other in the face with a butter knife, causing injury. The victim, 18, was initially uncooperative with police detectives, according to the report.
Further investigation resulted in the arrest of the 17-year-old on a charge of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D felony. The suspect was processed and arraigned d in Suffolk County Criminal Court Youth Part, police said.
Police did not release the identities of either of the involved parties.
