The public is invited to an informational meeting this evening on “Warehouse Breeds” hosted by the Greater Calverton Civic Association to share research its members and other residents have done into the potential impacts of the logistics and distribution centers being proposed in the Calverton hamlet.

Civic members are concerned about proposals for more than 2.5 million square feet of warehouse and logistics buildings currently on the table — in addition to the potential for more than 8 million square feet of logistics and distribution buildings that could be built along the runways at the Calverton Enterprise Park, Greater Calverton Civic Association President Toqui Terchun said.

The team that’s conducted extensive research into the issue include: Mark Haubner, Steve Gessler, Karen Kemp, Vinny Schiavone, Danielle Kilfoyle, Barbara Blass, Bob DeLuca, Toqui Terchun, Sally Macken, Linda Nemeth, Alan Leibowitz and Joe Graziano.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Riley Avenue Elementary School, 374 Riley Avenue, Calverton and via Zoom at:
