A Riverhead man suspected of being a drug dealer was arrested on numerous drug-related charges during a raid at his home Friday morning led by the East End Drug Task Force, Riverhead Town Police said in a press release.
Police, responding to community complaints of “illegal drug activity and foot traffic” executed a search warrant at 3 Aldersgate, Unit 2008 in John Wesley Village off Middle Road at approximately 8:35 a.m. today, according to the press release.
Larry Johnson Jr., 45, was arrested on charges of:
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Phencyclidine), a Class B felony;
Three additional counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell), a Class B felony;
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (cocaine), a Class C felony;
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (cocaine), a Class D felony; and
Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Scales), a Class A Misdemeanor.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s East End Drug Task Force, the Riverhead Police Department Detective Bureau, the Riverhead Police COPE Unit, Riverhead Police K-9, and Suffolk County Police executed the search warrant, Riverhead Police said.
Johnson is a prior felony offender with multiple prior convictions of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, police said.

The East End Drug Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional drug enforcement unit funded by the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney. The task force includes detectives, police officers and law enforcement personnel from New York State Police, Suffolk County Police Department, Riverhead Police Department, Southampton Town Police Department, Southold Police Department, East Hampton Town Police Department, and Suffolk County District Attorney Investigators.
