Two men were arrested on assault charges and a third man was arrested on a menacing charge following a fight at a group home on Northville Turnpike at about 2 a.m. Thursday, Riverhead Town Police said in a press release.
Officers responded to a 911 call about residents of a group home fighting and determined that a 31-year-old male resident was menaced with a knife by the house manager, Allen Jenkins, age 68, according to the police report.
Approximately 30 minutes later, patrol officers responded to the same location after another 911 call reported another fight there.
Patrol officers and detectives determined that residents Charles Teauhey, 31, and Roberto Rivera, 37, acting in concert, struck the same 31-year-old male victim with a cane, causing injury, police said.
Teauhey and Rivera were both arrested on second-degree assault charges. Jenkins was charged with second-degree menacing, according to the report.
Teauhey and Rivera were held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court. Jenkins was released on an appearance ticket, police said
