Riverhead Police are investigating an armed robbery of a Route 58 restaurant late Wednesday night.
The manager of Shah’s Halal Food at 1707 Old Country Road called 911 to report being held up by a man brandishing a handgun who entered the store at about 10:30 p.m. and demanded money, police said in a press release Thursday evening. The man wore a bandana covering his face, the restaurant manager told police.
After receiving an unspecified amount of money from the manager, the man fled the area on a bicycle, police said.
