East End Food has a new executive director.

Marci Moreau is the nonprofit’s new executive director, according to a press release from East End Food. She previously founded Time For Life, a nonprofit supporting children with cancer and their families, according to the press release. and has worked extensively in private label food production, focusing on organic, nutrient-dense ingredients. She is a columnist for Vivant Magazine, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Joseph in Connecticut and a master’s degree from the University of Southern Connecticut, the press release says.

“Her expertise encompasses nutrition for conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, Alzheimer’s, and cancer,” the nonprofit said in a press release. “Marci’s guiding mantra, ‘using food first to power the body and mind,’ will drive her leadership at East End Food.”

Moreau steps into the shoes of Kate Fullam, who left the position earlier this year after six years as executive director to work in the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets Division of Agricultural Development.

East End Food, formerly the East End Food Institute, operates a farmers market in Riverhead and works to support farmers and food businesses on the East End of Long Island. It is currently constructing and renovating a building on the corner of Main Road and Route 105 into the “East End Food Hub,” which will include a year-round farmers market and shared commercial kitchen.

East End Food is also launching its 2024 fundraising campaign, titled “The Power of Food. The funds raised during the campaign will go towards completing the construction of the new East End Food Hub, and funding employee salaries and marketing programs, according to the press release.
