Riverhead Town Police reported 120 criminal incidents and issued 89 criminal charges in June, according to a monthly crime report released by Police Chief David Hegermiller this month.

For reference, police reported 228 criminal incidents and issued 113 criminal charges in June 2023. There were 85 individuals arrested in June — 83 adults and two juveniles.
Out of the 85 individuals arrested, 42 were held for arraignment.

Police reported 67 domestic incidents in June.
The town issued 913 summonses in June: 48 town code violations, 529 traffic tickets and 332 parking tickets.
There were 2,712 non-criminal incidents reported by police in June.
Police reported 175 motor vehicle accidents in June; 17 were classified as minor. Five accidents involved deer.
