The Riverhead Blue Waves took down Commack Friday in a first-round playoff thriller, 48-47.
It was a back and forth battle with each team going shot for shot and never straying more than a few points from each other. All four quarters ended with less than 2 points of separation between the teams.
Liam Lennon lead the Waves in scoring with 19 points. Peter Lagnena scored 11 points and Landon Zaleski had 9.
The Waves move on to the quarterfinals and travel to Bay Shore (19-1) on Feb. 27. Tip off is 5 p.m.
