Students at Roanoke Avenue Elementary School got a chance to say thank you to local veterans today and speak with them about their service to our country.
The Veterans Day Appreciation Walk honored veterans with cheering, songs, conversation and snacks inside the elementary school. Original plans for a march around the school had to be changed because of inclement weather this afternoon. The march took place in the school’s auditorium instead.
The change didn’t dampen the kids’ enthusiasm for expressing their appreciation for the hometown heroes in their presence.
