Riverhead Town has amended its contract with the consultants hired to undertake the comprehensive plan update, extending the completion date for a year and adding new tasks for the use of interactive online tools to gather community input.

The comprehensive land use plan, which was to have been completed by May 2021, but was delayed by COVID, now has a target completion date of fall 2022, according to the town's chief planner, Jefferson Murphree.

The town and its planning consultants will launch an online community survey and begin holding hamlet meetings (via Zoom) in March.
