House fire

How Riverhead firefighters crawled through a smoke-filled house on fire to drag an unconscious man to safety Thursday night.

The man, 30, suffered smoke inhalation and was airlifted to Stony Brook hospital. A woman, infant and small child escaped uninjured from the upstairs apartment in the two-family home.

Numerous people safely evacuated from a W. Main St. house after fire broke out in the basement. Riverhead FD quickly contained the fire and put it out.
