‘Power to Feed Long Island’ summer food drive comes to Riverhead Stop & Shop Friday

PSEG Long Island and Stop & Shop are teaming up again this summer to collect food for Island Harvest Food Bank and will be collecting food donations at the Riverhead Stop & Shop on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

More than 600 boxes of food distributed to those in need in Riverhead

Vehicles lined up early at a drive-through food distribution event Tuesday morning at Stotzky Park. The economic consequences of the pandemic have caused a surge in people relying on food pantries and food distribution events to help feed their families.

Approximately 600 boxes containing 35 pounds of fresh produce, meat and dairy products will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Island Harvest to hold food distribution for seniors 60 and older on July 13

Residents 60 and over who meet certain income limits are invited to a free drive-up food distribution by Island Harvest Food Bank on Monday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Riverhead Free Library.

Hundreds turn out for food distribution in Riverhead, exhausting supplies

Hundreds of people turned out for the Island Harvest food distribution hosted by the Town of Riverhead at Stotzky Park this afternoon. Supplies of food ran out in just over an hour, forcing police to turn back vehicles still lined up on Pulaski Street, waiting to get into the park.

Food distribution to take place this afternoon at Stotzky Park

Island Harvest will be distributing 10 pallets of nonperishable and perishable food today at Stotzky Park from 1 to 3 p.m. or until supplies last. Walk-ups are asked to enter the park from Pulaski Street.

J. Kings donates 20,000 feet of warehouse space to Island Harvest Food Bank

Island Harvest Food Distribution, Long Island's largest hunger relief agency on Long Island will have an easier time distributing fresh foods and vegetables to the East End after receiving a 20 year no cost least of warehouse space from J. Kings Food Service.
