Riverhead Planning The site plan application for a retail cannabis dispensary on the corner of Route 58 and Ostrander Avenue gained preliminary approval from the Riverhead Planning Board last Thursday.

BJ’s is planning to expand its wholesale club in Riverhead with more space and a new on-site gas station, according to an application filed with the town’s Planning Department.

The Chick-fil-A restaurant, a 5,840-square-foot building with a drive-thru and patio seating will be built on the northwest corner of the Route 58 and Mill Road intersection, along with three other buildings for use as medical offices.  

The 60 MW/120 MW kWh battery storage facility on Edwards Avenue in Calverton was first proposed in early 2022 but got caught up in the Calverton industrial moratorium.

An auto repossession business is not allowed to operate out of the former Blackman Plumbing Supply building on West Main Street in Riverhead, the Zoning Board of Appeals ruled on Thursday.

The Planning Board held a "scoping session" to establish environmental review requirements for a mixed-use development in Calverton and approved site plan and subdivision applications for other projects.
