Fourth grader Beatrice Stefan's experiment entitled "What Color Nesting Boxes Do Hens Prefer? Blue vs. Orange". Her conclusion was the hens preferred orange nesting boxes.

Roanoke Avenue School held its annual science fair April 5, 2016. Student projects were eligible for first, second or third place ribbons based on the judges’ evaluation of the project.

First place projects will be entered in Brookhaven Laboratory’s Elementary Science Fair on May 7.

The following projects were awarded ribbons:

Kindergarten
1st—Geordan Brown “Magnets”
2nd – Jason Davis “How Were Dinosaur Prints Made?”

First Grade
1st—Summer Realander “What Flour Tastes Best?”
