A Brookhaven woman is facing a DWI charge after a single-car crash on Sound Avenue last night.
Police said Lauren Neiderfer, 35, lost control of her car traveling northbound on Doctors Path, which terminates at Sound Avenue, police said. She blew through a stop sign, drove across Sound Avenue and crashed through a privet hedge shortly before 7 p.m. Her Honda Civic overturned in the field on the north side of Sound Avenue.
Neiderfer, who was uninjured in the crash, was taken into police custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said. She was held for morning arraignment.
Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
