A Riverhead man was charged with assault after injuring another man with a knife at a Railroad Avenue bar early Saturday morning.
N.Y. State Police said Dwayne E. Eleazer, 28, was involved in an altercation with another man at the Loose Caboose Pub at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday. Eleazer attacked the man with a knife, causing a severe laceration to the victim’s arm, according to police. The injury required medical treatment, police said.
State troopers arrested Eleazer yesterday morning, according to a press release issued last night.
Eleazer was arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court and released on $1,000 cash bail, police said.
Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
