Police said they arrested Carlos Humberto Regalado-Ramos, 22, on a charge of criminal mischief in the second degree, a class D felony.

Police previously released surveillance camera images and video showing a man striking a pickup truck with a baseball bat. The incident took place after midnight on Sept. 29, police said.

Police said Regalado-Ramos was arrested today and held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.

Last month, police offered a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of an individual connected with the crime. Police did not say whether or not information from the public led to the arrest of Regalado-Ramos.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
