Chester John Kowalski Jr. of Riverhead died April 9, 2022 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. He was 83 years old.
Born in Jamesport on July 26, 1938, he was the son of Chester J. Sr. and Wanda (Hanko) Kowalski.
He attended Riverhead school, graduated from Riverhead High School and worked for the Town of Riverhead as a maintenance mechanic in the Buildings and Grounds Department. He retired in 2004.
He was a former member of the Jamesport Fire Department. Sober 40 years, he was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He enjoyed military history, country music and spending time with his dogs.
He is survived by his sons, Chester E. Kowalski and Christopher W. Kowalski and by his stepson James M. Stevens. He was predeceased by his brothers, Larry, Ben and Richard Kowalski.
