To the Editor:

Just as in Riverhead’s EPCAL boondoggle, the Riverhead Town administration is attempting to change the town code to approving a project they claim will preserve acres of farmland for farming. The acres will be minimal to farm as a way to keep Riverhead allegedly still like country. However the project they propose will bring major traffic to our two-lane Sound Avenue, which is already over-burdened during the fall months. And this doesn’t take into account the daily truck traffic and cars currently using this route to bypass Route 58. This proposal, if approved, will turn Riverhead into what the South Fork has become: an overcrowded, over-used area where going out is like driving into NYC in rush hour. Do we really want that?
