Riverhead Town Supervisor Tim Hubbard will deliver the 2024 “State of the Town” address on Tuesday, April 9 at 11 a.m. at Riverhead Town Hall.
Hubbard will reflect on his first three months in office “and chart the path forward for the balance of this year,” according to a press release issued by his office last week.
“I’m looking forward to delivering my first State of the Town Address,” Hubbard said in the press release. “We haven’t stopped since Jan. 1 and are looking forward to equally productive spring and summer seasons.”
Hubbard was elected supervisor in November and took office Jan. 1, but has a long history in Riverhead Town government. He was a Riverhead police officer for more than 32 years, working in the street crime unit, then in the juvenile aid bureau, followed by the detective division. He retired in December 2014 and in November 2015 was elected to his first of two four-year terms as a council member. He was a member of the Town Board during the administrations of three town supervisors: Sean Walter, Laura Jens-Smith and Yvette Aguiar. He served as deputy supervisor to Jens-Smith in her first year as supervisor in 2018.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the “State of the Town” address, but seating is limited in the meeting room, the supervisor’s press release said. The speech will be livestreamed on Optimum cable Channel 22 and on the Town of Riverhead’s website.
Riverhead Town Hall is located at 4 West Second Street. Parking and the main entrance to Town Hall is at the rear of the building, with access to the parking lot on both Roanoke Avenue and Railroad Avenue.
