Riverhead Town Police reported 135 criminal offenses and arrested 86 people on 113 criminal charges in February, according to a monthly crime report released by Police Chief Ed Frost this month.

The criminal offense data reported by the Riverhead Police Department complies with the National Incident-Based Reporting System (IBRS) implemented by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and in use by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. The department completed its transition to reporting in compliance with IBRS in July 2024.

Riverhead Police reported filing 113 criminal charges, including four against  juveniles.

Riverhead Police arrested 82 adults (64 males, 18 females) and four juveniles (one male and three females) on the above-listed charges, according to the report.

Out of the 86 individuals arrested, 36 were held for arraignment.

Riverhead Police reported 56 domestic incidents in February.

The town issued 889 summonses in February: 33 for town code violations, 617 traffic tickets and 239 parking tickets.

There were 2,240 non-criminal incidents reported by Riverhead Police in February.

Police reported 126 motor vehicle accidents in Riverhead Town in February; 14 were classified as minor. Ten accidents involved deer.
