The first snowfall of the season is in the forecast Saturday night through Sunday morning, with two to four inches of snow expected in the local area, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Saturday through 1 p.m. Sunday, the weather service said.

“The snow will make for slippery conditions. If traveling, reduce your speed and allow extra time,” Riverhead Police said in a weather advisory this afternoon.

Temperatures Saturday night will dip into the mid-20s. A forecast high of 33º is expected Sunday, but winds will make it feel like 15-25º.
