Elizabeth A. Strebel of Riverhead died April 15, 2026, at Acadia Center. She was 77 years old.

Born Aug. 29, 1948, in Manhattan, she was the daughter of Joseph Strebel and Mary (Stoeter) Strebel. She grew up in Center Moriches and graduated from Center Moriches High School. She later made her home in Riverhead, where she lived from 1973 to the present.
She was previously married to Ronald Williams; the couple later divorced. She was the owner and operator of Riverhead Grill from 1973 until she sold it in 2017. She purchased the restaurant from her father in 1973 and worked there part-time while in high school and eventually full-time after graduation. Her family said her passion was her diner and that she enjoyed spending time with her family at weekly dinners at restaurants in Riverhead. She also enjoyed genealogy and old movies.
She was predeceased by her sister, Betty McCabe.
She is survived by her son, Erik Williams (Mary) of Riverhead; her granddaughter, Morgan Dionne of Sound Beach; and her sisters, Josephine Prudenti of Jupiter, Florida, and Mary Ann Kruszon of Riverhead.
