John F. Woodson of Riverhead died May 27, 2026, at NYU Langone-Brookhaven. He was 100 years old.
Born Nov. 18, 1925, in Riverhead, he was the son of Armstead Woodson and Louise (Jones) Woodson. A lifelong Riverhead resident, was educated in Riverhead and worked as a driver for the Riverhead Highway Department.
Predeceased by his wife Emma, he is survived by his sons, Paul Woodson and John Woodson.
The family will receive visitors Friday, June 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Riverhead Cemetery.
