Riverhead Faculty and Community Theater will hold auditions in July for its upcoming production of “Come From Away.”

Initial auditions will take place Tuesday, July 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. at North Shore United Methodist Church, 260 Route 25A, Wading River, and Monday, July 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jamesport Meeting House, 1590 Main Road, Jamesport.

Callbacks will be held Tuesday, July 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jamesport Meeting House.

“Come From Away” is based on the true story of Gander, Newfoundland, where 38 planes carrying thousands of people from around the world were diverted on Sept. 11, 2001. The musical tells the story of the stranded travelers and the community that welcomed them.

RFCT has been authorized to expand the cast to 21 actors. Performers of all backgrounds, ethnicities, ages and identities are encouraged to audition. All roles are open.

Those auditioning should bring a hard copy of their résumé. Headshots are welcome but not required; photos will be taken at auditions for those who do not have one. Performers should prepare 16 bars of a song that best showcases their voice and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Auditioners should also be prepared to read selected scenes from the script; sides will be provided at the audition.

Video submissions will be accepted from those unable to attend in person. Submissions are due by Monday, July 12, and should include a 16-bar vocal selection video, a brief introduction video and a digital headshot and résumé.

Performances are scheduled for Nov. 19 through Nov. 22.
