Air quality health advisory

Air quality on Saturday will be unhealthy for sensitive groups, but on Sunday air quality in the region is forecast to be unhealthy for all, according to environmental and health officials.

Ground-level ozone will make outdoor air today unhealthy for sensitive groups, including young children, the elderly and people with lung disease, such as asthma, according to state health officials.

The N.Y. State Department of Environmental Conservation and Department of Health have issued an air quality health advisory for ground-level ozone today. The advisory remains in effect until 11 p.m. tonight.

The advisory is in effect again today from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for high levels of ground-level ozone on Long Island, in the New York City metro region and the lower Hudson Valley.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality health advisory today for the pollutant ground-level ozone. The advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. today for the Long Island, NYC-metro and lower Hudson Valley regions.

The Air Quality Index for ozone today is forecast to reach 130 on Long Island today.

Very young children, the elderly and people with existing lung conditions such as asthma should avoid outdoor activity tomorrow, the Suffolk health commissioner said.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality health advisory for Nassau and Suffolk counties today from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an air quality index value of 100 for ozone.
