Christmas parade

Holiday celebrations continue in downtown Riverhead tomorrow afternoon with the Lion’s Club 70th Annual Christmas Parade, followed by a roaring bonfire on the Peconic Riverfront featuring caroling, hot cocoa, candy canes and a chance for the kids to visit with Santa Claus in his gingerbread house.

Riverhead’s annual Santa parade and bonfire has been postponed to next Saturday, Dec. 18, due to weather concerns, according to the Business Improvement District.

A lively parade welcomed Santa Claus to Riverhead this afternoon on Main Street, where fire trucks and tractors decorated with Christmas wreaths and garland ushered the holiday spirit into downtown Riverhead.
