COVID-19 update: Hospitalizations and deaths rise, as test positivity rate remains steady

COVID-19 hospitalizations spiked 35% in Suffolk last week compared to the week before, as daily new hospital admissions rose 27% on a seven-day average. Patients being treated in intensive care units also increased to a daily average of 24 from an average of 15 the week before. PBMC in Riverhead saw the same trends locally, a hospital administrator said.
