There was one chilling disclosure after another in the corruption trial of former Suffolk DA Thomas Spota, who, along with former chief of investigations and chief of the DA’s government corruption bureau Christopher McParland, was convicted this month of obstruction of justice, witness tampering and other charges in federal court.

Residents in a Calverton neighborhood woke up today to find flyers in their driveways proclaiming "White Lives Matter," urging them to "take a stand" and signed with an email address containing the known white supremacist numeric symbol 1488.

Suffolk Police and the Central Pine Barrens Commission are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate two people they say dumped eight barrels of toxic liquids in a wooded area in Manorville May 20.

County Executive Steve Bellone today announced the nomination of Geraldine Hart, a career FBI agent who is currently the head of the bureau’s Long Island office. The nomination is subject to legislative approval.
