Police: Pair dumped barrels of toxic fluids in Manorville Pine Barrens
Suffolk Police and the Central Pine Barrens Commission are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate two people they say dumped eight barrels of toxic liquids in a wooded area in Manorville May 20.

Bellone nominates Suffolk’s first woman police commissioner
County Executive Steve Bellone today announced the nomination of Geraldine Hart, a career FBI agent who is currently the head of the bureau’s Long Island office. The nomination is subject to legislative approval.

Suffolk Police to hold vehicle auction at impound yard in Westhampton Saturday
The auction will feature 100 vehicles including sedans, pickup trucks, vans, SUVs and motorcycles. All vehicles are sold in “as is” condition and all sales are final. Preview times will be held Sept. 29 and 30.
