Twin Fork Beer Co. and Organizing the Hamptons are hosting a fundraiser for a Ukrainian charity fund supporting orphanages providing shelter to children and their mothers as the war rages on.

Tradewinds is brewing Red Eyes, an American red ale, using the recipe of the Pravda Beer Theatre, a Ukrainian brewery that launched its “Victory Beer Series” international fundraising effort this weekend. All profits generated from the sale of the beer will go to Pravda’s relief fund for humanitarian aid in Ukraine, owner Duffy Griffiths said. 

ALL FOR UKRAINE will raise money for UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders and and United Ukrainian American Relief Committee, organizations working to assist Ukrainians suffering from the effects of the war.

The local community’s response to the humanitarian aid drive organized by St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead has been overwhelming and uplifting, Rev. Bohdan Hedz, the church’s pastor said today. “We were hoping to fill one truckload with items by Friday,” Hedz said, “instead we filled four truckloads.”

Pope Francis’ call to fast and pray rang like a clarion in the midst of the clamoring sounds of war.

St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead is collecting donations to send overseas to support Ukraine’s people in their fight against Russian invasion.

More than 100 people gathered outside Riverhead Town Hall this afternoon to rally against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, voicing their support for the East End’s Ukrainian-American population and calling for the end of the war in Ukraine.
